Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie announces its 2024 finalists
Caraquet, June 26, 2024 - The Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie unveils its 2024 finalists for its Prix Annuel. The winner will be announced at the 26e awards ceremony to be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Cielo Glamping Maritime, in Shippagan, as a private event.
Only the Prix Annuel will be awarded this year. As for the Prix Volet Jeunesse Richelieu for the 2025 edition, the implementation of a promotional strategy to boost the number of applications is in progress.
The Prix Annuel annually recognizes a published work written in French in the following categories: novel, poetry, short story, tale, drama and literary essay. The finalists are:
- Paul Bossé, Moncton, for his literary essay Tous les tapis roulants mènent à Rome, published by Éditions Perce-Neige ;
- Sonya Malaborza, Galloway, for her poetry collection Prendre racine, published by Éditions Prise de parole; and
- Xénia Gould, Montreal, for his poetry collection des fleurs comme moi, published by Éditions Prise de parole.
The finalists were selected by an independent jury of the Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie. The jury, under the auspices of the New Brunswick Arts Board, made its selection from the 24 entries received for the 2024 literary competition.
About the Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie
Founded in 1998 as part of Acadie Vie's 50th anniversary celebrations, the Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie recognizes Acadians who, through the quality of their literary work, contribute to the promotion of Acadia around the world.
Since 1998, the Prix has awarded $147,000 in bursaries to 50 Acadian authors, recognized for the excellence of their work, to help them pursue their passion for literary creation.
